Amarina Hotel

Along the north-west coast of Madagascar lies a number of islands, the largest of which is Nosy Be. Nosy Be is the hub of Madagascar's tourism with something for everyone. It offers marvelous beaches and coral reefs in a National Protected area, a natural lemur reserve, wonderful fishing and numerous nearby islands. The air is filled with the fragrance of vanilla, ylang ylang, flamboyant, saffron and many other spices..

The Amarina Hotel is a new 4-star small resort hotel situated on the undeveloped northwest of Nosy Be at Amporaha, with fine food, elegant furnishings and a wide range of facilities. The hotel has an elegant open-air restaurant at which you can order from a gourmet menu based on fresh produce. There is a beachside bar where you can enjoy a drink while watching the spectacular tropical sunset, or you could watch the sunset over the ocean from the beachside Jacuzzi, large enough for two. The large pool provides the opportunity for serious swimming, serious lounging, and a separate area for children.

The hotel has 38 rooms housed in thatched bungalows set among palm trees and tropical gardens along the beach. The 27 superior rooms are 47 m2 and decorated in clear colours. All are sea-facing and equipped with air-conditioning, safe, tea/coffee facilities, mini-bar and DVD player. Each room has a private terrace, bathroom with shower, bath, hairdryer and a separate toilet. The Amarina also offers accommodation in two duplex senior suites, with separate sitting room; eight vast junior suites occupying the entire top floor of the bungalow; a family suite; and a superior room with wheelchair access.

Pedalos, kayaks, canoes and snorkelling equipment are at your disposal. The Amarina has its own dive and watersports centre; or you can try for tuna, swordfish, bonito or marlin game-fishing from the well-equipped and expertly staffed fishing boat. There are also many small islands and rocks that may constitute perfect refuges for tourists wanting to isolate themselves in total privacy. The inner part of the island is covered partly by tropical forest and partly by ylang-ylang and spices. The best excursions are to Lokobe Natural Reserve, where macaco lemurs, chameleons, varied birdlife and a few boa constrictors live, and to Mont Passot from where you will have a view of the volcanic lakes and the archipelago’s islands.
