At Saadani Safari Lodge, the only lodge in the Saadani National Park, the Indian Ocean breaks almost to the foot of your bed directly onto African Bush and forces it way into the Wami River on the rising tide, just down the coast. Elephants have been known to cavort on the beach and just a stone's throw from the open sea, hippos wallow in the river estuary. The white sandy beach at Saadani Safari Lodge disappears to the horizon in both directions. There are 9 tented cottages with wooden frames and cool grass roofs. Each is fully ensuite and has a view of the Ocean from the large veranda. The Lodge has a swimming pool with the sea in front and the bush behind it.
