The Great Migration, 2011
In July/Aug of each year, almost 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelles arrive in the Masai Mara from the Serengeti. Join Allan & Tracy Eccles, authors of Pot Plant Owl, on a 4 night itinerary to witness this phenonomen.

Allan spent 12 years as a pilot/guide escorting high-end clients through Southern Africa's wildlife areas. He had the privilege of working with Clive Walker, Ken Newman & Geoff Lockwood, well-known ornithologists and authors. Tracy is a writer. She wrote the book and also maintained the Web Cam chat room and the blog.

Day 1
00h40 Depart on Kenya Airways to Nairobi.
09h00.Connect with Air Kenya to the Mara. Transfer to Entim for 2 nights accommodation.
Entim Camp

Morning game drive through to Governors Camp for lunch. Overnight Governors Main Camp.
| Governors Main Camp

Situated in the west of the Masai Mara, Governors’ Camp has been built along the winding banks of the Mara River, its waters teeming with hippo and crocodile. The entire camp is under canvas, keeping the authentic, traditional safari atmosphere. The 38 spacious tents all boast their own ensuite bathroom with constant hot and cold running water and flushing toilets. Gas and paraffin lamps are used for lighting. The restaurant tent, the open fire place and bar tent are in the centre of the camp. Next to the reception is a small gallery with local paintings and handcrafts as well as a small souvenir shop. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style in the open. Dinner is served in the restaurant tent. For dinner there is usually a menu with various courses. A traditional camp fire is lit at sunset each evening. There are various activities on offer: game viewing in specially designed 4x4 vehicles and, game walks are included in the daily rate while balloon flights over the plains and day excursions to the Lake Victoria can be arranged at an extra cost.
